Jan. 3rd, 2015 10:25 pmName:
Sene of Clan Lavellan
Alternate name:
Sene of Clan Tabonil
Race, Class, & Specialization:
Elf, Two-Handed Warrior, Champion
Varric's Nickname:
Killer
How to recruit:
After completing The Threat Remains, Mother Giselle in Haven will ask the Inquisitor to look into rumors of a barbarian in the Hinterlands killing people. Most of the casualties so far have been rogue Templars, but she fears that innocents will suffer soon. The next time the Inquisitor goes to the Hinterlands, Sene can be found just north of the ravine where a rift with level 12 enemies is. After fighting the templars attacking her, the Inquisitor has the opportunity to talk to Sene. She explains her story -- she was to travel with her Keeper's first to the Conclave, but they were attacked by Templars. The First, Mahanon, was killed, and she's been hunting Templars ever since. The Inquisitor then has the opportunity to fight and kill Sene, let her go, or recruit her to join the Inquisition, at which point she becomes a companion.
Where to find in Skyhold:
After she is recruited, Sene can be found in the Inquisition smithy (where you receive the mission to Negotiate a Deal for Weapon Plans).
Approval earned by:
Helping the poor, helping elves, respecting elven culture, supporting Briala, reconciling Celene and Briala, siding with mages
Disapproval earned by:
Pro-Chantry or pro-Templar actions, allying with the Templars, supporting Gaspard
Note: If the Inquisitor chooses to ally with the Templars (rather than conscripting them), Sene will approach them the next time they speak with her. She will announce her intention of leaving. There are four possible ends to this conversation.
If the Inquisitor is diplomatic about the alliance and asks Sene to stay, she will agree but will be notably short with the Inquisitor. It is impossible to pursue a romance at this point.
If the Inquisitor is diplomatic about the alliance but lets Sene go, she will with little ill will between them.
If the Inquisitor is sarcastic about the alliance, Sene will go, furious. The Inquisitor will hear reports in background conversation of an elf killing Templars but will be unable to find her.
If the Inquisitor is aggressive about the alliance, Sene will attack, and the Inquisitor will have to face her alone and kill her.
Romanceable:
Sene may only be romanced by male Inquisitors, but she is able to be romanced by any race. She is unavailable to romance if the Inquisitor allies with the Templars.
Companion quests:
Casting Stones:
In the first conversation Sene has with the Inquisitor after she is recruited, she will talk about Dalish runestones and mention that her father taught her a game with them, but she left them behind with her clan. There are nine in total: two in the Hinterlands, one in the Western Approach, two in the Exalted Plains, two in the Emerald Graves, one in the Storm Coast, and one in Emprise du Lion.
For Whom the Hawk Cries:
Sene tells the Inquisitor she's found a camp of Templars. They are not Red Templars, apparently having gone from the Order before Corypheus started poisoning the ranks. They are, she believes, the ones responsible for Mahanon's death. She asks the Inquisitor go with her to deal with them. When speaking to the group, three of them recognize Sene, and they beg for their lives. The Inquisitor can choose to (a) let Sene kill them or (b) convince Sene to let them live. If the Inquisitor lets Sene kill them, she will be more at peace, feeling she's avenged Mahanon's murder. If the Inquisitor convinces Sene to let them go, she will begin to reevaluate what it means to be a warrior and patroned by Falon'din, the "Friend of the Dead."
Promise of a Future:
This quest is only available for Inquisitiors romancing Sene. Once Sene's approval rating is high enough and the Inquisitor has been flirting with her, Sene will confess that Mahanon was more than her Keeper's first. He was her chosen, though the two weren't married yet. If the Inquisitor shows interest in pursuing the relationship, Sene asks the Inquisitor for proof that this is more than idle flirtation. If the Inquisitor approaches their companions, each will have a different idea for how to prove it. Solas will provide a schematic for a Dalish promise ring. The ring requires 2 dawnstone, 2 pyrophite, and 1 silverite. Craft and give the ring to Sene, and the romance is complete. If the Inquisitor chooses to break off the relationship after giving Sene the ring, she will leave the party.
